So I've now received issues 53 - 60.
So more of the frame support arrived.
And more frame was screwed together.
Which puts me at about 70% of the top frame being completed.
I did receive the circuit board to lower and raise the ramp. I will be tapping into this board with all of my lighting that I have done with my boards.
One other modification I did was to the floor of the interior hold. Where I have placed a service hatch, I had also had a printed photo of a screen capture from the movie inside to appear as if it was internals of the Falcon. I decided to make a real area beneath the flooring.
I started out with some styrene and made a little box. I then added some little bits of model pieces from my old Millennium Falcon kit that was never built.
Added a couple of styrene rods to look like piping.
Then painted...
And detailed.
And here is what we have. A much more realistic 3 dimensional area beneath the floor.
I think it speaks for itself.
So, I assembled one of the recesses for the top of the ship.
And added little greeblies to the port side of the ship.
And here is what I have completed for the top hull at this point.
Now, one of my big concerns about this kit was all the time and modification and lighting I've been putting into the interior. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to view what I've done through the open panel of the hull. An option I was considering was displaying the interior as a separate piece. But now, having enough of the top hull to test it out, I am very pleased with what I am seeing. All of my details and lighting are very easily visible.
So it's turning out better than I imagined it would.
So stay tuned. MUCH MORE TO COME....
